2. A Note To Parents

These are your kids we’re speaking about in this book, but we, as grandparents, have a vested interest in their wellbeing.

On the other hand, although this book is written primarily for grandparents, there’s no reason why "grand" can’t be eliminated from the words grandparent and grandchildren.

Honestly, I don’t have all the answers. No one does, but with a concentrated eff ort and mutual understanding about what you’re trying to achieve, you’ll be able to contribute signifi cantly. It’s important for the kids to know their parents and grandparents are on the same page.

We elders have more time and in many cases, more disposable money to make this educational process a fun, enlightening, interesting and challenging experience for the kids.

Times are rapidly changing. To take advantage of opportunities, whether they’re career-orientated or financial, our kids need to be prepared to make critical decisions that will aff ect their lives. It's better to be able to recognize and evaluate choices ahead of time, not after the fact.
