3. A Note To Grandparents
This
book is written for grandparents, by a grandparent. We’re not
trying to usurp the authority of the parents, but we know that in
today’s changing work environment many families have both parents
working.
Everyday concerns must take precedence, and sometimes the future is
left to the future. That’s not a situation I personally relish. I
want to be active in creating my future experiences, rather than let
them just happen without my input.
I’m sure that from your vantage point, and with your experience,
you agree it’s better to be in control of what’s going to
happen to you rather than letting it evolve through happenstance.
To control your own shots, you need an expanded view of what’s
possible, you need skills that are neglected in our educational system
and you need to be financially savvy.
These are the things I will be expanding on in this book, and specifi
cally, what you can do, along with the parents, to educate your
grandchildren to meet the rapidly advancing future in a confident
manner.
